Having attended the Institute of Foreign Languages and Foreign Studies at the University of Erlangen-Nürnberg (Institut für Fremdsprachen und Auslandskunde bei der Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg), I passed the examination as a State-Approved Translator and Interpreter (Staatl. gepr. Übersetzerin und Dolmetscherin) with distinction in 1991.

Technical Translations

Since 1991 I have been working in the IT and localisation business, including periods of employment with leading companies such as SAP in Germany and Berlitz in Ireland. For two years I worked in technical support for IBM in Scotland and gained hands-on experience in hardware and software, which has proved to be of invaluable benefit in my daily work as a technical translator. Since 1997 I have been working on a freelance basis.

Having spent nearly 10 years of my working life in Britain and Ireland, I have an excellent command of the English language. I acquired my second foreign language, Swedish, during extended stays with my family based in Sweden.
